Create Your Own Tests
Creating custom tests allows your company to tailor assessments to specific roles, skills, and values, making the hiring process more relevant and effective. Unlike system tests, custom tests target niche skills and evolving requirements, ensuring evaluations align with your organization's unique standards. This flexibility lets your company adapt assessments as roles change, providing hiring teams with the ability to evaluate candidates on the most current and relevant skills.
Custom tests also encourage engagement and ownership among hiring teams, enabling them to apply their expertise to create high-quality, meaningful assessments that better predict candidate success. Overall, custom tests improve precision, privacy, and cultural fit in the hiring process.
To create a custom test, click the Add Test button. The test creation process has two main steps:
General Details: This section includes fields for key information such as Name, Duration, and Description. It also has an optional field for Instructions to Candidates, which is recommended for providing candidates with clear expectations about the test.
Questions: Here, you can add questions and categorize them by Skill Area to help hiring teams assess strengths and weaknesses across different skill sets, offering a well-rounded view of each candidate’s abilities. Be sure to add Sample Questions, as these provide transparency and structure for candidates and hiring teams, leading to a smoother, more effective assessment process.
Additionally, the test editor includes two read-only sections:
- Overview: Displays all relevant test fields and a summary of skill areas and questions.
- Statistics: Once the test is active and used in assessments, this panel provides reports on its use and performance.
