Edit a Job
Only the job owner, an Admin user, or users with specific permissions can edit a job; however, users with edit permissions cannot modify job permissions themselves. While a job's status is Draft, you have full editing capabilities. However, once a job is published, only certain fields and sections can be modified. This restriction on editing published jobs in Zamdit ensures consistency and fairness, as all candidates are processed using the same stages and criteria. Once the hiring process is complete and the job status is set to Complete, editing is no longer allowed.
In the job editor, you can preview the job listing view that candidates will see before publishing, ensuring satisfaction with the final version. To edit a job, click the Edit button. Below are the job sections, with details on which fields can be edited after publishing:
General Details: Contains key information like the job Title, Description, and Salary range, which populates the job listing view for candidates. When the job is Active, only the Description field remains editable.
Application Form: Customize the form to gather candidate details. Select from over 30 predefined fields or add custom fields to pre-qualify candidates or automatically disqualify those who don’t meet specific criteria. Once the job is Active, the application form cannot be edited.
Pipeline: Configure the hiring process stages, each tailored to include elements like questionnaires, assessments, and interviews. When the job is Active, you cannot add new stages but can edit stages that no candidates have reached. If the pipeline includes a Phone Screen stage and an external recruiter is assigned to conduct it, that stage cannot be modified, even if no candidates have reached it yet.
Hiring Team & Permissions: Define the hiring team and set permissions for each role within the job. Stage-level permissions can also be assigned here. This section remains fully editable when the job is Active.
Recruitment Sources: Organize candidate sources with three subsections: default job URLs for viewing and applying, external recruiter management, and additional sourcing channels. After publishing, you can add new external recruiters and sources, but existing ones cannot be deleted. The only change allowed is enabling or disabling the ability to receive new applicants from each source.
Third-party Email Templates: Customize email templates for automated communications with external parties (e.g., recruiters, references). Unlike candidate emails, which are configured within each stage, all third-party templates are managed here and remain editable when the job is Active.
The job editor also includes a read-only Overview section, displaying a summary of job fields, the application form, pipeline, and permissions, providing a comprehensive snapshot of the job setup.
