Edit Your Tests
Only the test owner or an Admin user can edit a custom test. While a test’s status is Draft, you have full editing capabilities. However, once a test is published and its status becomes Active, only the Summary, Description, and Information about Relevant Roles fields can be updated; question content cannot be changed.
This restriction on editing published tests in Zamdit ensures consistency and fairness, as all candidates are assessed with the same criteria. It prevents potential discrepancies that could arise if test content were altered mid-process, protecting the test's reliability and supporting accurate data analysis.
To allow improvements without disrupting ongoing assessments, Zamdit includes a "versioning" system. This system lets you create new versions by cloning existing tests, giving hiring teams the flexibility to refine assessments based on feedback and evolving needs while preserving an unaltered version for current candidates.
To edit a custom test, click the Edit button. The test editor includes the following sections:
General Details: Contains fields for key information, including Name, Duration, and Description. This section also includes an optional Instructions to Candidates field, which we recommend completing to give candidates a clear understanding of the test’s expectations.
Questions: Allows you to add or organize questions by Skill Area, helping hiring teams evaluate specific skill sets. Adding Sample Questions is encouraged, as they provide transparency for candidates and aid hiring teams in understanding the test’s focus.
Overview: A read-only section displaying all test details, including summaries of skill areas and questions.
Statistics: Once a test is active and in use, this section offers reports on its performance and usage in assessments.
From the test editor, you can preview the entire test before publishing to ensure you’re satisfied with the final version. The preview provides a view similar to what candidates will experience, allowing you to verify question flow, layout, and overall presentation.
